AIS in brief
AIS is a mobile network operator in Thailand, and one of the networks a travel eSIM may reach through roaming. From the information we track, it runs 5G.
We are not a reseller for this operator and we have not run our own field speed tests. This page explains how the network relates to your plan; it is not a review of signal quality.
The plans on our shelf that name AIS
From the supplier record behind each package, 39 of the 99 plans we currently sell for Thailand declare AIS as a network the profile can reach, at 5G. The figure comes from the same catalogue that prices the plan pages, not from marketing copy, and it moves when the supplier revises the record.
A plan naming AIS means the network sits in the list the profile may choose from. It does not mean your handset will stay on it. The priority order remains the supplier's, and the signal where you stand still decides.
Why plans do not name a fixed network
Nearly every travel eSIM is a roaming product. The supplier holds agreements with one or more networks in the destination, and your profile picks between them by a priority order set inside the profile, not by the buyer. Two travellers on the same plan can end up on different networks in the same city.

The other networks in Thailand
Alongside AIS, the market also has NT, True Move H, any of which your plan may use depending on the supplier.
- If signal is weak in one spot, try manually selecting another network your plan supports
- This market has 5G in parts of it, mostly in larger cities
- Leave data roaming on for the eSIM profile: roaming is how the travel plan works, not an extra charge

Will my eSIM definitely connect to AIS?+
39 of our plans name AIS as reachable, but that is not a guarantee. Not necessarily. Travel plans run over roaming agreements, so the network depends on the supplier behind the plan, your device and where you are. AIS is one of the networks operating in Thailand, not a guarantee attached to any particular plan.
How do I see which network I am on?+
Check the carrier name at the top of the screen, or open the mobile-network settings and look at the operator list. If signal is poor, try selecting a network manually instead of automatic — but only one your plan actually supports.
Does AIS run 5G, and will my plan get it?+
From the operator information we track, AIS runs 5G. Getting 5G in practice needs three things at once: the plan permits it, your device supports it, and the area has coverage. Miss any one and you fall back to 4G.
