How much data you actually need

Most visitors use roughly 400MB to 1GB a day: maps, messaging boat crews and guesthouses, and uploading beach photos in the evening. If you film underwater and post every night, budget closer to 2GB a day, and add more if the boat's crew tethers off your line.

When you land

The main gateway is Argyle International (SVD) outside Kingstown, with small strips on Canouan (CIW), Union Island (UNI), Mustique (MQS) and Bequia (BQU). The other real entry point is the sea: ferries run from the Kingstown jetty to Port Elizabeth on Bequia, and cargo-and-passenger boats work down the southern Grenadines. Get your line running at SVD, because the onward connection almost always involves confirming by phone with whoever is meeting you.

Where coverage changes

Coverage is densest around Kingstown, along the leeward west coast of Saint Vincent, and in the main settlements on Bequia, Canouan and Union Island. It thins on the La Soufrière volcano trails, in the windward valleys on the east side, and out on the water between islands — the Tobago Cays, which have no settlement at all, can leave you offline for the length of a day trip.
