How much data you actually need
Around 500MB–1GB a day for maps, resort apps, snow reports and photos. If you film on the slopes and upload every evening, budget 1.5–2GB a day.
When you land
No international flights land in Andorra. Most people fly into Barcelona (BCN) or Toulouse (TLS) and take a coach up; Andorra–La Seu d'Urgell (LEU) is on the Spanish side with limited seasonal service. Entry is by road at two points — the Spanish side near Sant Julià de Lòria and the French side at Pas de la Casa. Have your line running before the border so you can check road conditions in snow.
Where coverage changes
The main valleys strung with Andorra la Vella, Escaldes, Encamp, Canillo and Soldeu work well along the main roads, including the lift stations of the big resorts. It thins in the Envalira tunnel and over the pass, in the roadless Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, and on the high routes towards Coma Pedrosa. If you are hiking, save the route offline before you leave the apartment rather than at the trailhead.

Do Europe plans cover Andorra?+
Many do not, because Andorra is outside the EU and is usually treated as its own destination. Open the plan's country list and look for Andorra by name before buying; if it is not there, assume it is not covered and take a plan for the country itself rather than guessing.
When is the best time to visit Andorra?+
Winter, roughly December to April, is the ski season when the resorts are fully open and the towns are busiest. June to September suits hiking, high mountain lakes and escaping the heat of Spain. Between seasons the slopes close and many lifts shut for maintenance, so check before booking accommodation.
Is there a border check entering Andorra?+
Andorra is not in the Schengen area, so there are checkpoints on both the Spanish and French sides. Officers may ask for documents and look at what you bought, since there are limits on duty-free goods taken out. Carry your passport, and allow extra time on Sunday evenings when the outbound queues build up.
When does a Andorra eSIM start counting days?+
Most plans here start when the phone first connects to a network at the destination, so you can install in advance at home and switch it on after landing. Each plan page states its own rule.
Do I have to remove my home SIM?+
No. The eSIM is a second line, so you keep your home number for SMS OTP. Turn off roaming data on the home line and set the eSIM as the data line.
