In the towns and larger villages along the Karakoram Highway it generally works, but between them, driving through valleys and over passes, you can be offline for hours. Download the whole route in advance, agree stops with your driver, and do not schedule anything that needs you online during a travel day. Many guesthouses have Wi-Fi, but the speed varies.
Which ride-hailing apps work in the cities?+

No. The eSIM is a second line, so you keep your home number for SMS OTP. Turn off roaming data on the home line and set the eSIM as the data line.
