Ljubljana Joze Pucnik (LJU) is the main airport but it is small, so many people fly into Venice (VCE), Trieste (TRS), Zagreb (ZAG) or Vienna (VIE) and continue by bus or train. Bring the line up at the airport you actually land in, because the journey crosses a border on the way.
Where coverage changes
Ljubljana, Maribor, Bled and the coastal towns around Piran and Koper are well covered. It thins or disappears on the trails of Triglav National Park, over the Vrsic Pass, in the upper Soca valley, and it is gone entirely once you are down inside the Postojna or Skocjan caves.

Not once you are down inside — it is a deep underground system. Book your time slot ahead while you are still outside, save the ticket offline, and agree a clear meeting point at the exit with anyone in your group. Do not expect to reach anybody while you are in the cave itself.
Do I need a vignette if I rent a car in Slovenia?+
Cars using Slovenian motorways need a vignette, which is now electronic and tied to the number plate. A car rented inside the country usually already has one, but if you drive a rental in from Italy or Austria you must buy it online before joining the motorway. That is another reason to have data working before you reach the border.
When does a Slovenia eSIM start counting days?+
