Nadi International (NAN) on the west side of Viti Levu is the main gateway, with some regional flights into Nausori near Suva (SUV). Domestic hops continue to Labasa (LBS), Savusavu (SVU) and Taveuni (TVU), and fast catamarans leave Denarau daily for the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands. Book the sailing that matches the time your resort has given you.

Coverage is dense around Nadi, Denarau, Lautoka, the Coral Coast and the capital Suva. It thins a long way in the Nausori Highlands and the inland Sigatoka valley, across the northern Yasawas, and out in the distant Lau group. On the small islands signal often reaches only certain corners of a resort, and the boat rides between islands usually have none at all.

Will I have signal at a small island resort?+
It depends on the island and on where you are standing. Many resorts get service only near the lobby, the jetty or the rise behind the buildings, and there may be none inside the bure itself. Ask staff on day one which spot works best and make that your daily check-in point — far easier than wandering around hunting for bars every time you need to send something.
How long is the boat to the Yasawas, and is there data on board?+
The catamaran from Denarau takes anywhere from about an hour to four or five, depending how far up the chain your island sits, because it stops to drop people off along the way. There is service near the Viti Levu coast and then nothing mid-ocean, so check in, pay and tell the resort your arrival time before boarding, and keep the ticket saved as an image.
What should I watch out for driving around Viti Levu?+
The ring road is mostly in good shape and you keep signal through the towns, but once you turn onto the gravel roads up into the Nausori Highlands or the Sigatoka valley it disappears and there is almost no signage. Download the whole island offline first, drive in daylight, and allow more time than the app estimates because cattle and people cross the road often.
