What this calculator actually computes

This calculator takes a plan price held in USD and multiplies it by the display exchange rate the system uses at that moment, to show a figure in the currency you pick. What appears on screen is a number computed from one particular display rate, not the amount that will actually be charged to your card or account.

So if your card statement later shows a slightly different figure than what this page displayed, neither is wrong. Your bank or card issuer applies its own exchange rate, which is a separate rate from the display one used here, and may add a foreign transaction fee on top of it.

Reading the converted figure without being misled

Treat the converted figure as a rough guide for comparing prices between plans, not a number that has to match the card statement exactly. The true base price is always in USD; changing the displayed currency only makes the price easier to picture, nothing more.

If the converted figure sits right at the edge between choosing a smaller or larger plan, go back to the USD base price as the deciding number, since that is what the payment system actually uses. The figure converted into another currency can shift depending on when the display rate was last refreshed.

What it cannot know

This tool cannot know what exchange rate your bank or card issuer will apply on the day it actually charges you, whether your card carries a foreign transaction fee, or whether the payment provider at checkout will offer to bill you in baht instead of USD — a service commonly called dynamic currency conversion, which usually applies a worse rate than your own bank would.

It does not know when the display rate currently in use was last refreshed, or how far the real foreign-exchange market has moved since then. This tool does one narrow job, multiplying the base price by one display rate — it is not wired to a live currency market.

  1. 1Pick the currency you want to compare againstChoose whichever currency you find easiest to picture, not necessarily the currency of the destination country.
  2. 2Always read the USD base price alongside itThe USD base price is what the payment system actually uses; the converted figure only helps you picture it.
  3. 3Check with your card issuer whether it charges a foreign transaction feeThis fee never appears here, since it belongs to your card issuer's own terms, not the merchant's.
  4. 4At checkout, choose to pay in USD if offered a choiceIf offered to pay in baht instead, that is usually dynamic currency conversion, which tends to apply a worse rate.
  5. 5Compare plans in the same currency every timeComparing two plans in different currencies by accident can leave a wrong impression of which one is actually cheaper.

Why the charged amount can differ from the converted figure

ReasonEffect on the amount actually charged
Your bank's rate is a different set from the display rateThe actual charge almost always drifts slightly from the figure converted here
The card's foreign transaction feeAdds on top of the real charge, and this page has no way to know whether that fee applies to your card
Dynamic currency conversion offered at checkoutUsually applies a worse rate than your own bank if you choose to pay in your local currency instead of USD
The display rate on this page has not just been refreshedThe figure shown can differ from the market rate on the actual day of payment

Why the real charge tends to differ from the figure converted here

If checkout asks whether you want to pay in baht instead of USD, think carefully before accepting. Dynamic currency conversion like this usually applies a worse rate than your own bank, even though it looks more convenient in the moment.

Currency is a display preference, not page content

Because the base price is always held in USD as one single set, choosing a display currency never creates a new page or a new link. The plan page link you share with a friend stays exactly the same, no matter which currency that friend chooses to view the price in on their own screen.

This differs from some sites that split pages by currency or country, where the underlying price can genuinely vary by region. On this page, the real price is the same for everyone; only the number displayed on screen changes.

How the display rate gets refreshed

The rate shown here is a set the system refreshes periodically, not a live trading rate that shifts every second with the real market. How often it refreshes is an internal system detail and is not published as a fixed schedule on this page.

So comparing the figure on this page against the rate shown in a banking app or a financial news site at the same moment can turn up a small difference. That is a normal consequence of using a different display rate set, not an error on either side.

Why several currencies are offered to view in the first place

Visitors landing on a plan page come from many countries and are used to different currencies. Letting them view the price in whatever currency they know well speeds up the decision, without having to open a separate conversion app every time a price is read. That is the only reason this option exists — not because the real price differs depending on the country you browse from.

Choosing a currency is purely a personal preference, not a setting tied to your address or account's country. You can switch between currencies at any time with no effect at all on the base price or on any order placed afterwards.

What changes and what stays fixed when you switch currency

Comparing plans across currencies the right way

When comparing two plans, view both in the same currency, whether that is USD or one you find familiar, since comparing across currencies by accident — one left in baht, the other still in USD — can leave a wrong impression of which one is genuinely cheaper.

If comparing plans from several providers that already state their prices in different currencies to begin with, convert everything into one currency first, and keep in mind that our own plan's true base price stays in USD regardless of which currency it is displayed in.

  • Always view the USD base price alongside the converted figure
  • Check your card issuer about a foreign transaction fee in advance
  • Decline dynamic currency conversion at checkout if offered a choice
  • Always compare two plans in the same currency
  • Do not treat the converted figure as the exact amount your card will show

Checking the final total once more before confirming payment

The order summary before payment usually shows the price in USD alongside the figure converted into your chosen currency. Read both figures before confirming, not only the converted one, since the card issuer's own checkout flow can sometimes insert an extra screen afterwards asking which currency to settle in.

If that extra screen appears and offers a rate that looks clearly higher than the figure shown here, that is usually another sign of dynamic currency conversion. Choose to go back to paying in USD whenever that option exists, rather than accepting the offered rate without comparing it first.

After paying, keep the receipt or confirmation email, since it states the USD base price clearly. If the later card charge looks unusually off, you will have a clear reference figure to point to when asking about it.

Keeping this evidence also helps when you explain a problem to your own card issuer, since banks typically ask for the original base price first before checking whether the rate applied at charge time was correct. Having a confirmation email that states the USD figure clearly on hand makes that step considerably faster.

When the converted price sits close to a set budget

If the converted figure lands right at the edge of a set budget, always leave a small margin, since the actual charge tends to drift from the converted figure here by some amount, depending on your bank's own rate and any fee that applies. Treating the converted figure as exact can leave the budget slightly short without warning.

For two plan sizes priced closely together, the decision should turn on data volume and the daily full-speed ceiling first, rather than the currency-converted difference, which can always shift with the display rate.

If a plan is picked out weeks ahead of the actual trip, the currency-converted figure noted down at that time may no longer match by the time payment is actually confirmed, since the display rate will have refreshed in between. It is worth reopening this page close to the day of paying rather than relying on a figure remembered from an earlier look.

No. The real base price always stays in USD regardless of which currency you view it in. Changing the displayed currency only changes the number on screen, not the base price or the amount the payment system actually uses.
