Jio 的 eSIM 究竟是什麼

Jio 的 eSIM 其實就是 Jio 自家的 SIM 格式——Jio 是印度的行動網路業者——因此主要設計給在印度境內使用，且通常需依印度的 KYC 規定進行身分驗證。esimonline.asia 的旅遊 eSIM 則專為出國或到印度旅遊時使用行動數據而設計，並透過依國家選擇的方案涵蓋多個目的地。

What Jio says on its own site (checked 10 October 2026)

Jio's international services page says it offers roaming in 160+ countries and a single Jio World Pack covering 88+ countries. Packs come as voice and data, data only, and in-flight. Jio asks you to recharge with a roaming pack before departure and says validity begins only at first usage, whether a call, a text or data. You can track usage in the MyJio app, where it is tagged Roam.

Jio's roaming support is +91 7018899999, which Jio describes as toll-free, and you can also message Hi on WhatsApp. Converting to a Jio eSIM is done in the MyJio app under Switch to eSIM: you verify your email, give the device EID, enter the OTP sent to your Jio number, wait a 2-hour cooling period under DoT guidelines and confirm on an IVR call. A registered email ID is mandatory, and Jio says the upgrade is free.

We did not find a page on Jio's site that describes a SIM for foreign visitors. Jio's Thailand roaming page tells you to get a Jio SIM at a Jio store in India. So this page does not describe what documents a visitor would need; ask Jio directly.

Setup and switching steps

1. 1Decide how much you need the Indian numberIf you only need OTPs, keep the Jio line on for SMS and use our eSIM for data. If you will call a lot, a Jio voice and data pack may be better value.
2. 2Install our eSIM before travelScan the QR from the email over Wi-Fi, or enter SM-DP+ and the code manually. Do not delete the Jio line.
3. 3Turn off data roaming on the Jio lineIf you did not buy a Jio roaming pack, turn off data roaming on the Jio line and switch off automatic data switching.

Common pitfalls

• Leaving without a roaming pack. Jio advises recharging before departure.
• Assuming the destination is in the World Pack without checking. Jio says it covers 88+ countries, not every roaming country.
• Converting to a Jio eSIM mid-trip. The 2-hour cooling period and the IVR call can leave you without the number for a while.
• Forgetting that our eSIM has no number, so it cannot receive Indian bank OTPs
