One eSIM for a China, Japan and Korea trip

China, Japan and South Korea is a route many travellers combine, for leisure and for business. A three-country eSIM lets you install once and stay connected throughout, but China has network details that deserve extra reading. This page explains the general idea and what to look for on a plan page. It carries no prices or data figures, because the list below is generated from the live catalogue.

How a three-country pack works

Like other multi-country packs, you install one profile, the data you bought is shared across the countries, and the phone attaches to each country's local network on its own. It is data-only, with no phone number or SMS. You buy on the web with no app, and the QR code arrives by email.

What to know about the network in China

How some plans connect in China works differently from Japan and Korea. For example, the route your data takes through the supplier's network can differ, so a service that works in the other two countries may not open in China. We cannot tell you in advance which applies to a particular plan. Open the plan notes on the plan page, and read our guide to the internet in China.

רשימת בדיקה לפני שאתה קונה

• China, Japan and South Korea are all in the covered-country list.
• You have read all plan notes, especially any that mention China.
• Your phone supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked.
• You have a plan for essential apps such as maps, translation and payments.

Three-country pack or separate eSIMs

If your time is spread fairly evenly over three countries, one pack removes a lot of fuss. If most days are in one country, or China is a major part of the trip and you want an option aimed at China specifically, looking at single-country plans alongside is worthwhile. Compare total price and data from the live plan pages, not from memory.
