One eSIM for a Japan and Korea trip

Japan and South Korea are a popular pairing: short flights, easy to combine, and many travellers plan them as one trip. This page helps you decide between a single eSIM that covers both countries and buying one eSIM per country. No fixed prices appear here, because the plan list below is generated from the live catalogue and changes with stock.

What a two-country pack is

A two-country pack is one eSIM profile that works for data in both Japan and South Korea. You install it once, and the data you bought is shared across both countries. When your flight lands, the phone attaches to the local network of the new country by itself. It is a data-only eSIM, with no phone number or SMS.

When the two-country pack comes out ahead

• You split your days fairly evenly, so you do not have to guess in advance which country will use more data.
• You do not want to manage two profiles, scan two QR codes, or switch lines right after landing.
• The trip is short and continuous, so one profile works from the first country onward with nothing new to set up in the second.

When two single-country eSIMs may be better

If you spend ten days in Japan but only two in Korea, a Japan plan sized for ten days plus a small Korea plan may fit better than one two-country pack, because single-country plans often offer a finer choice of data and duration. The way to know is to open both options on the live plan pages and compare total cost and total data yourself.

How to check the pack really covers both

1. 1Open the plan pageLook at the covered-country section. Both Japan and South Korea must be listed explicitly.
2. 2Read the plan notesLook for conditions such as hotspot sharing or a speed limit once the data is used up.
3. 3Controleer of uw telefoon eSIM ondersteuntUse the device checker before buying, and confirm the phone is not carrier-locked.

What to do when you cross the border between the two

Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi and leave it off until you need it. On arrival in the first country, turn the profile on and enable data roaming for that profile. When you fly on to the second country, the phone should switch networks on its own. If no signal appears after a few minutes, toggle airplane mode once. Menu names differ by phone model and OS version.

If your trip has more than two countries

If your plan includes other Asian countries, a regional pack may suit better than a two-country one, but read the country list closely, because one region label does not mean every country you are visiting is included.
