Lynden Pindling in Nassau (NAS) is the main gateway, followed by Grand Bahama at Freeport (FPO), with Exuma International at George Town (GGT), North Eleuthera (ELH) and Marsh Harbour in Abaco (MHH) serving the Out Islands. Ferries link Nassau with several of them, and cruise ships dock at Nassau and Freeport. Complete the online customs declaration before you reach the desk.

Coverage is dense on New Providence — Nassau and Paradise Island — and around Freeport on Grand Bahama. It thins a long way out on the Family Islands: Andros, the smaller Exuma cays, and the northern and southern ends of Long Island. Boat crossings between islands and day trips into the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park are usually out of range for the whole day.

Will I have signal out on the Family Islands?+
Yes in each island's main settlement — George Town in the Exumas, Dunmore Town on Harbour Island — but it disappears for long stretches once you are on the coastal roads, on an empty beach, or on a boat to a smaller cay. Treat any day on the water as offline and clear anything that needs a connection in the morning before you board.
What should I allow for when connecting on a small plane?+
Domestic hops shift with the weather and the passenger load, and airlines usually tell you by message or a direct call, so give a number you can actually be reached on when booking. Save the boarding pass as an image on the phone, and leave at least three hours between a Family Island flight and an international connection through Nassau.
Can I tether on a chartered boat?+
Only while you are still close to shore. A few miles off the island the signal goes and the hotspot stops meaning anything. If the group needs to share a connection during the day, download the offline maps, playlists and documents onto each person's phone before casting off rather than relying on one line.
