Waikiki, downtown and the Ala Moana district are dense and usable throughout. The ring road on the east and north sides thins in places along the cliffs and bays that the ridge hides, particularly where the road hugs the mountain. A day in the city is light — a little over a gigabyte, with short walks and Wi-Fi in cafés and hotels — but a day driving the ring road climbs to roughly 2GB, with navigation left open and frequent photo stops. Carry a power bank too, because running a map in full sun all day empties a battery fast.
