The single gateway is Nauru International (INU) in Yaren district, right beside the ring road and only a few minutes from most accommodation. Flights are operated by Nauru Airlines, connecting Brisbane, Nadi, Tarawa, Majuro and other Pacific points on a schedule that runs only a few days a week. Check visa requirements with the official authorities well before you travel, since many nationalities have to apply in advance.

Because the island is so small, what service exists follows the inhabited coastal ring — Yaren, Aiwo, Denigomodu and around Anibare Bay. The interior plateau known as Topside, the old phosphate workings with their limestone pinnacles, has few residents and you should allow for patches with nothing at all.
