Beirut Rafic Hariri International (BEY) is the only commercial airport in service. Overland there is the Masnaa crossing, the main route to Syria, plus the northern crossings around Abboudieh and Arida. Turn the line on inside the terminal, because getting into the city usually means meeting a driver whose price you agreed in advance rather than joining a metered taxi rank.

The coastal strip from Beirut north through Jounieh and Byblos to Tripoli, and south to Sidon and Tyre, is continuously covered. It thins in the high villages of Mount Lebanon, deep in the cliff-walled Qadisha Valley, along the Lebanon Mountain Trail, and on the switchback roads climbing to Bcharre and the cedars, where service comes and goes with each bend of the valley.
