The gateway is Pago Pago International (PPG) at Tafuna on Tutuila, reached mainly from Honolulu, plus a short hop across to Apia in Samoa that also crosses the international date line. The Manuʻa Islands have small strips at Fitiuta on Taʻu and on Ofu. The other entry point is the harbour at Pago Pago, used by the occasional Manuʻa boat and by seasonal cruise calls.

Coverage is strongest around Pago Pago harbour, Fagatogo and the Tafuna area near the airport, and remains usable along the east and west coast roads. It thins where the road climbs over the ridge in the middle of Tutuila, and there are dead spots on the national park trails around Mount Alava and above Vatia.
