No. The phone re-registers by itself. If data does not return within a few minutes, toggle airplane mode once.
Can I use a regional plan in my own country?+
Usually not: roaming plans are built for use outside the issuing market. Check each plan's terms.
Three countries, four nights each. Which way should I buy?+
No country dominates and there are two crossings, so a single regional plan is usually easier to run, provided its list covers all three. If one country is missing from the list, price the regional plan plus a small extra against three country plans.
Do I have to delete the old profile before installing a new one?+
No. Most phones hold several profiles at once; you simply choose which is the active data line. How many can be stored varies by model, and deleting a profile is usually irreversible, so do not remove one that still has days left.
Does a regional plan work during the flight?+
No. A ground data plan does not work in the air. Inflight internet is a separate airline service with its own terms. Plan the flight as an offline stretch and download what you need before boarding.
What if plans change mid-trip and a new country is added?+
First check whether the new country is on the list of the plan you hold. If it is, carry on. If not, get online temporarily, for example on accommodation Wi-Fi, and buy a plan for that country while keeping the original profile if it still has days left.
Will several separate plans get confusing to use?+
It is manageable if you name each profile after its country at install time and know where the data-line selector sits on your phone. That menu's location differs by manufacturer and OS version, so open it once before you travel. Most confusion comes from identical profile names rather than from the number of plans.
Does a layover country need its own plan?+
If you stay airside and never clear immigration, usually not: airports generally have Wi-Fi. If you leave the terminal, stay overnight, or have a long connection during which you need to coordinate, treat it as a real entry and plan data accordingly.
