Many problems people hit after landing are not about signal; some apps simply behave differently in some countries. This tool shows which of yours need preparing before you fly.
Apps you use every day
4 of your 4 apps may behave differently
- TikTok — Not available over a travel planTikTok does not serve Hong Kong or Chinese addresses (Hong Kong since 2020). No travel eSIM fixes this, because the restriction is TikTok's own.
- LINE — Подготовьтесь до вылетаLINE is commonly unreliable on local networks and sometimes fails even over a foreign route. Keep a backup way to reach people.
- Google Maps — Подготовьтесь до вылетаWhether Google Maps loads depends on routing, and map data in China is often offset from real positions. Download offline maps and keep a local map app as backup.
- Instagram — Подготовьтесь до вылетаDepends on whether the plan routes your traffic through a foreign network; nobody can guarantee it, so read the plan page.
In China, foreign apps are commonly blocked or unreliable on local networks (a Chinese SIM or hotel Wi-Fi). Some roaming-based eSIM plans route traffic through a foreign network, so these apps often open, but it depends on the plan.
Пакеты для See КитайThis lists widely known country-level restrictions. It is not a guarantee that an app will open on any particular plan or network; read the plan page before you buy.
How to read the result
Each status reflects widely known country-level restrictions, not a guarantee for any single plan. For China, whether foreign apps open depends on whether the plan routes traffic through a foreign network, which you need to confirm on the plan page.
Частые вопросы
Why does an app fail when I have signal?+
Because the cause is sometimes the service's own restriction — regional limits, location checks or a verification step that needs your usual number — not the connection.
