How much data you actually need
Roughly 400MB–900MB a day for maps, boat times, weather and photos. If you are staying longer and working from the island, budget nearer 1.5GB a day.
When you land
Guernsey Airport (GCI) is in the Forest parish, mostly serving UK routes plus light aircraft on to Alderney (ACI). By sea, Condor Ferries reach St Peter Port from Poole, Portsmouth, Jersey and St Malo, while the Herm and Sark boats leave from the town harbour. Get connected on arrival, because sailing times can change with wind and swell on the day.
Where coverage changes
St Peter Port and the parishes on the main island are close together and behave normally. The smaller islands are the difference: Sark is a dark-sky island with no cars and no street lighting, and Herm is small enough to walk round in a few hours — plan both on the basis that you may be out of contact for stretches. Alderney is further out, and its northern cliffs are the thinnest part of all.

Will a UK plan cover Guernsey?+
Do not assume it will. Guernsey is a Crown Dependency separate from the UK and outside the EU, so it is usually listed on its own or grouped as the Channel Islands. Check the destination list before buying, and if you plan to cross to Sark or Alderney, make sure the whole island group is included.
Can I do Sark as a day trip?+
Yes, if the weather cooperates. The boat from St Peter Port takes about forty-five minutes with several sailings in season. There are no cars, so you walk, cycle or take a horse cart. Confirm the return sailing before you go across, because rough seas can cancel it and leave you looking for a bed for the night.
When is the best time to visit Guernsey?+
May to September is when the boats to the smaller islands run in full and the cliff paths are at their best. Out of season many services drop to reduced timetables or stop, some restaurants close, and crossings are cancelled by wind more often, so build a fallback plan into the trip if you go then.
When does a Guernsey eSIM start counting days?+
