Asia is where the choice between a regional and a country plan matters most, because the regional lists our supplier sells are small and they do not overlap neatly. When we checked on 10 October 2026, the Southeast Asia list covered Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam, but not Singapore. Another Asia list covered seven countries including Singapore. Some larger Asia lists include mainland China and others leave it out but add Taiwan.
The practical rule: if most of the trip is in one country, its own plan is usually the better buy, and a small second plan covers a short side trip. A regional plan earns its place when you cross two or more borders and every country on your route is on its list. For the common Thai pairings, Japan with Korea, or China with Hong Kong and Macau, there are dedicated combined plans that avoid paying for countries you will not visit.

A regional plan uses one profile across the countries on its list, so you never swap eSIMs mid-trip. You usually pay a higher price per gigabyte for that. If the whole trip sits in one country, the country plan is normally better value.
We track 32 countries here and sell for the 28 where a supplier actually has inventory. We do not publish empty pages for the rest just to catch searches.
No. They are the networks a plan may attach to under the supplier's roaming agreements. What you actually get depends on your device, your location and how busy the network is.
