Dry-season destinations start filling up this month, so networks in tourist districts get busier in the evening — the hour everyone uploads at once. If you have to send work or join a call, do it outside the early-evening window in the busy areas.
What to skip this month
Thailand's Gulf coast and Malaysia's east-coast islands are in their rainy season. If you want the sea this month, take the Andaman side, which has come good again.
Thai holidays in November and what they do to fares
November has no Thai public holiday on the Bank of Thailand lists for 2026 or 2027. Loy Krathong falls in November but is not a public holiday, so Thai outbound demand is low and fares to Japan, Korea and Europe are set by the destination's season.
The catch is December. The first Thai long weekend after November is the 5 December holiday, and in 2026 its substitute falls on Monday 7 December. Anyone planning a year-end trip should book in November at the latest.

When to book for November
- For Kyoto in colour season, book refundable rooms early and pick weekdays; the Japan Meteorological Agency and local tourism boards report progress, so the city can be adjusted nearer the date.
- November is when to book the December Thai long weekends and the new-year break; seats on the 30 and 31 December departures are usually the first to go.
- If a visa is needed, the visa appointment sets the timeline, not the fare: book the appointment first and buy refundable or changeable flights only after it is confirmed.
- Buy and install the eSIM at home in the days before departure; most plans in our catalogue only start counting days on first connection at the destination, which the plan page states.
Data needs in November
A domestic Andaman trip needs no eSIM for Thai residents, but a Japan, Vietnam or India trip this month is usually a city-heavy one where 1 GB a day covers maps, trains and messages. India is where many travellers find payments and ride apps need a working local number for SMS codes; a data-only eSIM does not give one, so keep your Thai SIM active for its OTPs and arrange local payments in advance.
