Do I include the country where I change planes?+
It depends on whether you leave the airport. Staying airside with airport Wi-Fi means you can leave it off. Going into the city, staying overnight, or needing to be reachable while you wait means include it — otherwise you are offline during the longest wait of the journey.
If a country is covered, does the plan work everywhere in it?+
Not always. Coverage means the plan works through that country's networks, but remote areas, mountains, tunnels and basements can still be dead zones — the same limitation a local SIM has. If your route goes through such places, download offline maps and agree meeting points in advance.
Can one phone hold two profiles at the same time?+
Most eSIM-capable handsets store several profiles, but how many they store and how many can be active together varies by model and operating system, so no single number covers every phone. The clearest test is to install both at home and see how your handset behaves before you have to rely on it mid-route.
For a cruise calling at several countries, is a regional plan right?+
It works and is usually the most convenient choice, since you are online the moment the ship docks in each country with nothing to switch. Understand that at sea there is no signal at all, because there are no ground networks; onboard internet while sailing is the ship's satellite service and is billed separately.
I added a country mid-trip and the plan does not cover it. Now what?+
Buy a single-country plan for it and install while you still have Wi-Fi or working data from the existing plan. Do not wait until after the border: installing a profile needs internet, and once you are offline you cannot install anything until you find Wi-Fi.
常见问题
Where does the covered-country list come from?+
From the same coverage data the plan pages render, not a separate hand-written description, so the tool and the page cannot disagree.
Does covering a country mean every area works?+
Not always. Coverage means an agreement with networks there; remote areas, mountains and underground stretches can still have no signal, exactly as with a local SIM.
Do regional plans work on a cruise?+
They work in port, where the phone reaches shore networks. At sea there is no signal; onboard service is satellite and billed separately.
