Can an eSIM fully replace my main SIM?+
It can, if the device supports running an eSIM alongside a physical SIM at the same time, but most travel plans are data-only, so it tends to be used alongside your main SIM rather than replacing it entirely.
How far in advance can I buy one?+
Yes, buying well in advance is fine, since what you receive is a profile that has not yet been installed. Validity for most plans starts when it is actually activated, not at the moment of purchase — check the terms on that specific plan's page to be sure.
Do I need several plans for a multi-country trip?+
It depends on whether the plan covers a single region or several countries. Some plans cover a whole region in one purchase — always check the list of covered countries stated on the plan page before buying.
Do I need an existing SIM in the device to install one?+
No, installation can be done over Wi-Fi alone; there is no need for a physical SIM to be present in the device during the installation step.
What if I change my mind and no longer travel?+
Refund terms depend on whether the profile has already been activated or not. Full detail and the process are covered specifically in the refunds category.
Do I have to sign up for an account before buying?+
No, you can buy using only an email address. Having an account simply makes it easier to reopen a past order later — see the account category for detail.
Does using an eSIM require downloading a special app?+
No — installation uses the network settings menu already built into the device. No special app needs to be installed.
Does a device older than around 2018 simply never support it?+
Mostly, no, but the surest way is to check the device's own network settings menu or use our device-checker tool, rather than relying on the release year alone.
After buying a plan, can the country still be changed?+
It depends on whether the profile has already been installed. If not, contacting the team to ask is usually possible. Full terms are covered in the refunds and orders categories.

什么是 eSIM？+
eSIM 是内置在手机里的 SIM 卡。不用插实体卡，而是把运营商的配置文件下载到手机的 eUICC 芯片上。只要手机支持，你在出发前就能在家先加好目的地的上网套餐，而且不必取出自己的主卡。
eSIM 是怎么运作的？+
付款后，你会收到一个二维码或一串安装码。扫描后，手机会从运营商的 SM-DP+ 服务器下载配置文件，并存成第二条线路。到了目的地打开这条线路，手机就会像漫游卡一样连上当地的合作网络。
可以出发前先安装 eSIM 吗？+
可以，而且建议这么做。在家连着稳定的 Wi-Fi 装好，然后先把这条线路关掉。我们大部分套餐是在目的地首次连上网络时才开始计算有效期，而不是安装的时候；但请务必看一下套餐页上的「启用方式」，因为有些套餐是购买后就开始计算。
「仅数据」是什么意思？+
这类套餐只提供上网：没有当地号码，这条线路也不能打电话或收发短信。用 App 通话——LINE、WhatsApp、FaceTime——都不受影响；只要主卡线路保持开启，你也仍然可以用原号码接收短信。
哪些套餐可以打电话和发短信？+
请看套餐页面上的「通话／短信」那一栏，大多数旅行套餐都是仅数据。如果你需要接收银行或其他绑定号码的短信，就用原号码接收，eSIM 只用来上网。
eSIM 比实体 SIM 卡更安全吗？+
在实体层面是的：没有卡片会遗失或被换走，也不必取出自己的主卡。至于数据安全，取决于你使用的连接和 App，eSIM 与实体 SIM 卡并没有差别。
直接用公共 Wi-Fi 不行吗？+
有时候可以，但公共 Wi-Fi 常常要注册、只在定点才有，而在街上或交通途中通常没有——偏偏那正是你最需要地图的时候。多数旅客会以 eSIM 为主，再用酒店 Wi-Fi 处理大流量的下载。
eSIM 和随身 Wi-Fi 有什么不同？+
eSIM 就在你的手机里：不必多带、不必充电、也不用归还。随身 Wi-Fi 是另一台设备，可以让多台设备共用，但要随身携带、充电，通常还得到指定地点取还。一两个人出行，eSIM 通常更省事；人多又全程同行的大团体，独立设备可能更合适。
购买需要提供身份证件或护照吗？+
在我们网站上购买旅行套餐不需要身份证件。有些国家自己有电信实名登记的规定，可能适用于特定套餐；若属于这种情况，套餐页面会写明。想知道某个国家的确切要求，请查该国主管机关的说明，而不是第三方的整理。
旅行套餐可以在自己国家用吗？+

旅行 eSIM 和运营商的漫游包有什么不同？+
漫游包用的是你现有的号码，费用由你的运营商收取。旅行 eSIM 则是另一份预付的上网套餐，而你原本的号码仍然留在手机里。
