Does an eSIM prevent SIM-swap fraud?+
In the sense that there is no physical card to swap in a shop or be talked into transferring, yes, an eSIM is safer on that point. But the risk of unauthorised access to a carrier account itself still exists regardless of which SIM type is used, since it depends on that account's own security, not the SIM's form factor.
Is using a VPN alongside an eSIM plan necessary?+
That is a personal choice unrelated to the eSIM directly. If you already use a VPN normally for other reasons, it works alongside the plan as normal, but an eSIM itself neither requires nor recommends a VPN as any kind of condition.
If the phone is lost while travelling, can my eSIM plan still be used?+
Not immediately on a new device, since the profile was tied to the phone that was lost. The provider needs contacting to request a fresh profile for a replacement device, and terms for this vary by provider.
Is it dangerous to post a travel photo that happens to include the phone screen?+
It depends on exactly what information is visible in the frame. If the profile's QR code or the order number is clearly readable, crop or blur that part before posting. A general screenshot with no sensitive data does not carry any extra eSIM-specific risk.
If I suspect someone else has accessed my order, who should be contacted?+
Change the password on the sign-up email straight away, then contact the team via LINE at https://lin.ee/skDPoNx (@esimonline) or email at esimonline.asia@gmail.com, with whatever details or evidence you have.
Do you need to change your apps or how you use the internet just because you switched to an eSIM?+
No. An eSIM does not change how apps or websites send and receive data in any way. Habits that were already safe, such as updating apps regularly, using strong passwords, and being wary of suspicious links, still matter exactly the same whether the underlying line is a physical SIM or an eSIM.
