Where exactly is the eSIM profile stored?+
It lives inside the eSIM chip, a dedicated component on the mainboard, not in the general storage that apps use. That is why a profile cannot be copied out as a file, cannot be forwarded, and does not appear in a device backup. An ordinary backup therefore will not bring a profile back if you delete it.
I deleted my profile — can I reinstall it with the same QR code?+
Usually not. Most codes are built for a single download, after which the server refuses the same request. The route forward is to contact the provider with your order number and ask whether a replacement code can be issued, which is a policy that differs between suppliers, so we cannot promise an outcome on their behalf. Can one profile be installed on two phones at once?+
No. A profile represents one line and is bound to the eSIM chip of a single device. If two phones need to be online at the same time, either buy two plans or use one phone as a hotspot for the other — after checking whether the plan you bought permits hotspot sharing, since that condition varies by provider.
The profile installed but I still have no data. What is wrong?+
Nine times out of ten it is a setting rather than the profile. Check three things in order: is the travel line switched on, which line is set to carry data, and is data roaming enabled on that line. If all three are right and nothing loads, cycle aeroplane mode once and restart the phone before asking for help.
Do I always have to supply my EID when ordering?+
Not with every supplier. Some ask for the EID so the profile can be tied to your particular chip; others do not, and issue a profile that installs on the first device to scan it. If the checkout page asks for it, copy the number carefully from the device information menu, because a single wrong digit produces a profile that will not install.
Should I delete a profile once the plan expires?+
It is not compulsory; an expired profile does no harm sitting there. But once enough of them accumulate and the phone warns that there is no room for another, remove the ones that have genuinely expired. If your provider allows a topping-up of an existing profile for a future trip, keeping it may in fact be more convenient — check the plan's terms before you decide.
