Before you leave home

Do not delete the profile when there is no signal: a QR usually installs only once. Toggle airplane mode and try manual network selection first.
The first night
- Check day-one usage and multiply by the remaining days to see whether the allowance holds
- Turn off automatic photo backup if usage came in higher than expected
- Download tomorrow's offline maps while on hotel Wi-Fi

Can I activate before I leave home?+
You can, but many plans start counting at first network attach, so activating at home can waste days. Check that plan's trigger first.
Do I need to disable my home SIM entirely?+
No. Turning off data and roaming for that line is enough, so you can still receive calls and SMS codes.
