Managing your Thai number abroad
Thai banking and government apps are tied to your number. Disabling the Thai SIM entirely can lock you out of verification codes. The safe setup is to leave the line enabled but with data roaming off, so SMS still arrives without using data.

The recommended sequence
- Install the eSIM at home before departure
- Turn off data roaming on the Thai SIM
- On arrival, enable the eSIM line and set it as data
- Verify your banking apps still receive OTPs
