Update the system to its latest version and check once more. And look for an EID number on the device information screen. If neither the menu nor the EID exists, it is likely that this model, in the market where you bought it, simply shipped without eSIM hardware.
The profile installed but I have no data — where do I start?+
Start with the three checks that explain most cases. Is data roaming on for that profile — travel plans usually run over partner networks, which the phone treats as roaming. Is the mobile-data SIM pointed at the new profile. Is the master mobile-data switch on. If all three are right, restart the phone once and try selecting the network manually. If it still fails, message support with screenshots.
Can I keep several profiles on the phone at the same time?+
Usually yes. Most Android phones store several profiles while keeping only a limited number active, and the exact figures depend on the model and the system version. A disabled profile does nothing but stays on the device and can be re-enabled while the plan is still valid. The thing to be careful about is deletion: it is permanent, and most original activation codes cannot be used again.
If I switch the phone to English to find the menu, does that break anything else?+
It does not. Changing the language only changes what is displayed; it does not touch your data or your network settings. Switch back to Thai when you are done. It helps because most instructions are written using the English labels, so what you read matches what you see.
Why do some phones need an APN typed in when most people never touch it?+
The APN is normally filled in automatically when the profile activates, but some combinations of handset and plan do not receive it. The fix is to enter the values your plan's supplier specifies. Those values are specific to that plan, not a standard you can guess, so ask whoever sold it to you rather than copying settings written for a different product.
Is it better to install at home before travelling or on arrival?+
Installing at home is usually safer: you are on Wi-Fi you trust and you have time to fix problems. Read the plan's terms first, though, to see when the clock starts. Some plans count from installation, others from the first attachment to a network in the destination country. If it is the former and you install too early, you can lose days for nothing — so ask before you install if it is not clear.
