常见问题

Is my ticked list sent anywhere?+

No. It is stored in this browser only, never sent to a server and not tied to any account.

How far ahead should I do this?+

At least two days out, so there is time to fix anything that fails.

Do I need to remove my home SIM?+

No — keep it for calls and bank OTPs; just switch off roaming data on that line.

If I switch phones before the trip, does the old checklist carry over?+

No, since the ticked state belongs to the old browser and device. Open the list on the new phone and start ticking again — it does not take long, as it is only a memory aid.

If every box is ticked, does that guarantee no trouble?+

No. Ticking is only a memory aid. Some things, such as a phone's network-lock status, depend on facts entirely outside this list's control.

Should I print this checklist on paper?+

That is a personal choice — the benefit is being able to read it even if the phone fails or the battery dies. The tool itself only runs in the browser and has no built-in print feature.

For a trip through several countries, how many times do I run this checklist?+

Once — the plan-coverage item in this list already covers checking whether one plan spans every country or whether a regional plan is the better fit. There is no need to repeat it per country.

Can I deliberately clear the ticks I have already made?+

Yes. Clearing this site's data in the browser resets everything, since there is no copy stored anywhere else.

Should I run through the list again at the airport?+

Not the whole thing, but three items are worth a glance: the eSIM line is still listed, roaming data on the home SIM is off, and the offline map opens in aeroplane mode. That takes about a minute, and those are the three where a mistake surfaces latest. Anything already settled at home does not need reopening.

What happens if I open this in a private window or clear my browser data?+

The ticks disappear, because the state lives in this browser alone — no account, no sync. If your preparation spans several days and you would rather not lose it, screenshot the ticked list, or note the outstanding items in whatever notes app you already use.

If the trip is postponed, what happens to the plan I already bought?+

It depends on that plan's own terms, particularly whether validity starts at purchase or at first connection. Read the plan page and the order confirmation first, and if it is still unclear, message the team with the order number. Until you know, do not install or switch on the line to test it.

Do I need to switch the eSIM line on at home as a test?+

Not always, and in some cases you should not. If the plan starts counting from the first connection, switching the line on is the thing that starts the clock. What you want to verify is that the install succeeded, and that shows as the new line appearing in the phone's list of plans — no need to activate it.

Travelling with an older relative or a child who has their own phone — how should I handle it?+

Run the list once per device, since each has its own eSIM support, its own lock status, and menus that differ by brand. The smoothest approach is to do all the handsets together at home on Wi-Fi, label each line distinctly, and agree in advance which phone is the one everybody relies on if another fails on arrival.
