Which eSIM brand for the USA in 2026? Match the plan to your trip length
The US has three main networks and each brand sells a different plan model. This guide helps you choose by number of days, route and whether you need a phone number.

早わかり
- A trip of about 7 days usually fits a fixed-GB plan, while 14 days or more is worth comparing against daily-cap and unlimited plans with a daily speed limit.
- The main US networks are AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, so read the plan page to see which one a plan uses, especially if you will drive to national parks with thin coverage.
- Most eSIMs are data only with no phone number, so if you need to take calls or verify accounts with a US number, look at plans that include one or at a paid virtual-number add-on.
How this guide was written
The editorial desk wrote this from the plans, policies and help pages each brand publishes as of October 2026, not from a test trip. This site also sells eSIMs, so it appears as one option and is not ranked first.
Prices change every week, so this guide has no price figures. Compare the current price for your exact dates; what is compared here is how each plan is built and which conditions apply.

Four questions to answer first
- How many days, and one city or several states
- Will you drive into remote areas such as national parks
- Do you need to share data through a hotspot
- Do you need a phone number that takes calls in the US
These four answers remove more than half the options. What is left is comparing each brand's conditions.

US networks, distance and national parks
The main US operators are AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. The eSIMs sold on this site use these networks, and the network varies by plan, so open the plan page to see which one you would get. For other brands too, look for the network on the plan page before buying.
The country is huge. Between big cities you can drive for hours without a town, and in many national parks coverage is thin or absent. Our sources do not say which network covers which spot, so open each operator's official coverage map and compare it with your route.

USA-only or USA plus Canada
Some plans cover the US only and some add Canada. The country list is on each brand's plan page. If you will not cross the border, a US-only plan is the more direct fit; if you plan to see Niagara Falls from the Canadian side or visit both countries, pick a plan that lists Canada by name.

Trips of 7, 14 and 30 days
| 旅行期間 | Plan model that fits | 確認すること |
|---|---|---|
| 7日間 | A mid-size fixed-GB plan or a short daily plan | When validity starts: on connection or on install |
| 14日間 | A larger fixed-GB plan, or unlimited with a daily cap | The daily cap, for example Airalo drops to 1 Mbps after 3GB in 24 hours |
| 30日間 | A monthly plan, or a SIM with a number | Continuous-roaming limits (Holafly caps it at 90 days in one destination) and whether top-ups exist |
Nomad's Day Plans let you pick 500MB to 3GB of high-speed data per day for trips of 10 days or less, then drop to 512 kbps. They exist in 18 countries, so check whether the US is on the list.
Data-only eSIM or a SIM with a number
Most eSIMs from Airalo, Holafly, Nomad and Ubigi are data only with no phone number. Airalo has some Data, Voice & Text plans, and Saily offers a virtual US +1 number as a paid add-on.
AIS SIM2Fly is a separate AIS prepaid number, sold as an eSIM or physical SIM, and works for customers of any Thai network. Calls on AT&T and Verizon need AIS HD Voice (VoLTE). True and dtac have GO Travel MyPlan, also a separate TrueMove H number, with no calls or SMS bundled.
Brands compared by plan model
| 選択肢 | Plan model | 電話番号 | Conditions to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airalo | Fixed GB, plus unlimited that slows after 3GB a day | Mostly none, some plans include one | Top-ups on many eSIMs; validity start varies by package |
| Holafly | Unlimited by number of days | なし | No top-ups now, buy a new plan; fair-use clause applies |
| Nomad | Fixed GB, unlimited and Day Plans | Generally none | Auto-activates on day 60; Unlimited plans are non-refundable |
| Saily | Fixed-GB plans with top-ups | Paid virtual US +1 number | The app has no Thai |
| Ubigi | Prepaid data, plus unlimited that slows at a threshold | なし | Refund only before the QR is scanned |
| This site (esimonline) | Plans priced in THB, no app, QR by email | None (data only) | Self-service refund within 14 days if not installed; the plan page lists the network |
This site sells eSIMs too, so compare it with the others for your own dates. The cheapest option this week may not be the same next week.
Visa and buying ahead
Thailand is not in the US Visa Waiver Program, so ESTA does not apply and a B-1/B-2 visitor visa is needed. We could not confirm this from the official page in our last check, so verify on travel.state.gov before planning.
On timing, buy the eSIM close to departure, because each brand has its own activation window. Nomad auto-activates on day 60, and AIS and True packs must be used abroad within 60 days of opening.
よくある質問
Should I choose unlimited or fixed GB for the USA+
A trip of about 7 days is often fine on fixed GB. If you use a lot, for example hotspot or heavy video, look at daily or unlimited plans and read the daily speed cap first.
Can a data-only eSIM receive SMS OTP+
No, because it has no local number. Keep your Thai SIM in the phone for bank OTP, or choose a SIM with a number if you need a US one.
How early can I buy a USA eSIM+
It differs by brand. Nomad auto-activates on day 60, Ubigi's QR is valid for 6 months, and Airalo says to install early because networks may recycle unused eSIMs. Buy close to your departure date.
