Does changing the displayed currency on the site make it cheaper?+
No. Picking a currency on the site changes the display so prices are easier to compare; the underlying price does not move. What you are actually charged comes from your issuer's rate on the date the transaction is processed. Small differences between displayed currencies come from rounding and the conversion rate, not from a hidden discount.
The statement is a little higher than the price I saw. Is that wrong?+
A small gap is normal and usually comes from two things together: the rate your issuer applied on the settlement date, and any foreign transaction fee your bank charges. Your card's terms explain how yours works. If the gap is conspicuously large, send us the details and we will check them against our record.
Should I let the merchant convert to my home currency, or let my bank do it?+
It depends on both rates that day, which is hard to compare in the moment of confirming. The point to understand is that accepting the merchant's conversion means the rate comes from a provider at the point of sale rather than from your issuer, and an extra conversion has been added. Read the screen fully before confirming.
My refund came back as a different amount. Why?+
A cross-currency refund is another conversion, made on the day it is processed. If the rate moved between payment and refund, the amount moves too, so it can land slightly above or below the original. Some banks also do not return the foreign transaction fee on a refund; that is the issuer's policy, so ask your bank directly.
There is a charge I do not recognise. What should I do first?+
Start with the merchant name, which is sometimes the payment processor rather than the site. Then compare the transaction date against confirmation emails in your inbox, including the spam folder. If it turns out to be an order with us, send the order number and an image of the statement line with the card number covered and we will check it. If you still cannot place it, contact your bank, since card security is the issuer's responsibility.
Can I have the receipt in a different currency for an expense claim?+
Receipts are issued in the currency actually charged so they reconcile with your card statement. If your finance team needs another currency, base it on the statement amount, since that is what left your account. If you need extra detail on the receipt, send us the order number.
常见问题
Does switching currency actually change the price?+
No. The base price is unchanged; only the display differs, and small variations come from rounding and the conversion rate.
Can I get a receipt in another currency?+
Receipts follow the currency actually charged so they reconcile with your card statement.
