Will setting the APN make my data faster?+
No. The APN only tells the phone which route to take out to the internet. It has no effect on speed, signal strength or coverage. If data already works but feels slow, the cause is usually local congestion, where you are standing, or the speed terms of the plan itself. Editing the APN while data is working only risks breaking it.
Where do I find the APN for the plan I bought?+
Take it from your own order page. That value matches the supplier actually behind your plan; values from anywhere else are not reliable, because plans and regions differ. If your order page does not list an APN at all, that usually means the plan does not need one set by hand, and your problem probably has a different cause — ask us and we will look.
Will editing the APN affect my main line?+
No, provided you select the eSIM line before entering the menu, because each line keeps its own settings. The risk is typing into the wrong line without realising, which leaves your home data broken when you return. The simplest safeguard is to give the two lines clearly different names before you travel and screenshot both lines' original values.
Is it really fine to leave username and password blank?+
Yes, and it is the correct setting for most travel data lines. Those two fields exist for connection types that require extra authentication, which is not how travel plans normally work. Leave them empty unless your order page states values. Inventing entries there breaks data just as reliably as leaving the APN unset.
The APN menu on my phone is greyed out — what now?+
It is common. The system locks it when the profile has supplied the values, or the OS version simply does not expose it. The right move is to go back and confirm data roaming, the data line, and a restart. If that still leaves you offline, message us with screenshots — and do not delete the profile hoping to reinstall, because some plans allow only one installation.
Do I need a different APN after crossing into another country?+
Usually not. A regional plan keeps the same data route even when attached to a tower in a new country. What does need time is the search for a new network, which can take several minutes; one airplane-mode toggle speeds it along. If the phone still finds nothing, the problem is attachment rather than the APN, so try manual network selection instead.
