I already bought an eSIM. Will it work on the ship?+
Yes, in port, when the phone reattaches to that country's land network and provided the country is on the plan's covered list. At sea it will not, because the shipboard network is a separate system that travel plans do not include.
Should I keep airplane mode on for the whole voyage?+
It is the safest setting for the time at sea, and you can still turn Wi-Fi on separately to use the ship's network if you bought its package. Come off airplane mode once you are ashore to use the plan normally.
How much data should a port day get?+
